Combining forces

What was this?

Indeed Social Impact Function and Indeed Incubator collaborated with our new corporate partner - Goodwill Industries - to harness their knowledge of barriered job seekers, and Indeed’s knowledge of HR tech to generate innovative solutions for helping job seekers with barriers get hired.

Coming together to generate new ideas

As part of a larger, 3 day summit with Goodwill leaders from across North America, I coordinated and facilitate a Design Jam to build a stronger connection with our new corporate partner and to generate a backlog of ideas for Indeed Incubator to test.

Ahead of the workshop I generated 5 personas for our barriered job seekers by running moderated and unmoderated user interviews to focus ideation of each group I was dividing participants into.

During the workshop Goodwill VP and Director participants shared stories of their experiences with job seekers that aligned with our personas, we used those stores to generate How Might We’s. From there we moved on to Idea lists, Crazy 8’s, Solution Sketches, Dot Voting, and Story Boarding.

Finally each group shared their ideas for supporting their assigned persona.

I Designed, organized, and facilitated a Design Jam that Included 3 members of Goodwill Industries International, 24 Director and VP level representatives from 12 Goodwills across the US and Canada, members of Incubator, and members of the Social Impact Function at Indeed. This achieved alignment across internal (Social Impact Function and Incubator) and external (Indeed Fellows) groups in how we would design new products together.

We generated 5 different product concepts and spurred several more.

Collaborative and thought provoking discussion. Nice to be project focused.

Timeline

1 Month - To generate personas, come up with a plan for the workshop, source fellow Indeedians to support groups during the session, and coordinate with Goodwill International
