Enhancing Reviews & Feedback
Designing a Robust Tool for Indeed's Quarterly Reviews
Indeed Feedback
What was this?
Originally named Career Kaizen as nod to our Japanese parent company, Recruit, this tool was internally developed to support Indeed’s quarterly feedback cycles and calibrations.
The Problem
Indeed was using Google Docs and Google Sheets to manage their quarterly employee reviews. However, as the company experienced rapid growth and the number of employees surpassed 5,000, this method of review management became ineffective.
Our Solution
As part of the Indeed Labs team, I led the design of an internal solution for managing reviews and feedback for Indeed’s quarterly review process. This tool needed to accommodate special cases such as “calibration” meetings, continuous feedback within each quarter, Indeed’s rating system, and the evolving Functions and roles rubrics.
Indeed Background Checks Designs
This tool had multiple layers, including unique views for employees, managers, and calibrations.
Employee view - writing self evaluations and giving peer feedback
Employee view - feedback and self evaulation changes are locked
Manager view
Calibration view - manager participant
Calibration view - shard leader
This project was graduated to its own team 1 year after it was designed and built. As of Q2 2024, it is still in use at Indeed for review cycles.
